These are tools, I’ve used myself and currently have in my kitchen!
Also, if you’re interested in hot water bath canning, but don’t know where to start, I’ve got a helpful Beginner’s Guide to Canning post as well. It will get you set up with the general steps you need to take to get started canning at home!
Granite Ware Covered Preserving Canner with Rack 21.5 qt. – This is the exact pot I use and have used for years now! It comes with a Jar rack that can hold: 7-quart jars, 9-pint jars, or 13-half pint jars. Dishwasher safe & works like a champ!
Ball Blue Book Guide to Preserving – This recipe book is a must-have! The intro will provide you with all the information you need to get started canning the correct way + tons of tasty canning recipes!
12 Pack of Pint Jars – I’m not usually a name-brand snob, but ball jars are the best!
Norpro Canning Essentials Box Set – This little kit comes in super handy with its jar tongs, largemouth funnel, tongs, magnetic lid lifter, jar wrench, and bubble popper. The right tools make for an easy job!
Pyrex Measuring Cup Set – Not just for canning, I use these measuring cups every day! There’s a 1 cup, 2 cups, and 4 cups in this set. They are heat-proof and pretty much the handiest thing to have around the kitchen.
Measuring Spoons – Gotta have ’em
Ball Pickle Crisp – This isn’t absolutely necessary when you’re pickling veggies. But, I do have to say, if you want those veggies to stay crispier it really does make a big difference!
Ball Pickling Salt – You definitely need to use salt that is dedicated to pickling when canning in order to keep the brine clear.
Silicone Pot Holders – I love my silicone pot holders, they work amazing, they’re easy to clean up if anything spills on them. Hot water bath canning is hot! Definitely need some pot holders to keep your hands and countertops safe!
Norpro Canning Ladle – This little ladle is the best! The side spouts make adding brine, or juice to your canning jars so much easier and less messy! For sure a helpful tool to have!
Jar Spatulas – Who doesn’t need a jar spatula to use around the kitchen in general? I just find these nice to have for a lot of different cooking/baking situations!
Jar Labels – Homemade Preserves make great gifts! Why not make them cute with a custom label? Avery has an app on their website to design and print your own labels.
