I’m a huge fan of Harissa and Salmon so it only made sense to season the Salmon with Harissa.

Let me tell ya, it wasn’t a disappointing pairing at all!
I love that Harissa has a tangy, spicy flavor with a surprising finish with a hint of mint.
I think generally it’s put on chicken or vegetables, but I loved this Harissa Salmon.
Sunday, March 13th, after we got back from our 10-year anniversary trip, where I ate everything bad under the sun, I decided to give up carbs, sugar, and alcohol for one month. (hopefully longer if I can do it lol) The main reason for this is my Rheumatoid Arthritis.
I loooooove bread, pastries, pizza, and generally any savory carb options lol. I’m not as big on desserts, but I still enjoy them. However, all these things don’t love me back. I am on medication to help fight the RA, but I don’t believe I should rely solely on that. I also want to help my body naturally to fight inflammation. So I’m attempting to remove those foods that cause this reaction.
Not gonna lie, I’ve cheated here and there over the last few weeks, but I’ve honestly done really well cutting all those things out! The amazing thing is, I have lost 5lbs and more importantly (and sadly lol) have felt better!
So this Harissa Salmon with a Cucumber Radish Dill Salad, is a quick, easy, super healthy dinner option that is free of inflammation-causing foods.
I hope you give it a shot and enjoy it!
This Harissa Salmon Dinner takes hardly any time to whip up.
I started with the Cucumber Radish Dill Salad so once it’s all mixed up it has time to chill and the flavors to meld some. I think it’s a salad that tastes better even the next day!
So, start by washing and slicing up the English cucumber and bunch of radishes and throwing them in a salad bowl. I find a red onion to be extra potent, a little bit goes a long way, so I only used around a 1/4-1/2 cup of red onion slices.
Once all the veggies are chopped, mix up the dressing in a separate small bowl. I used plain Greek yogurt. If you don’t have this, I think you could also use sour cream.
The fresh dill is what makes this. You might be able to get away with dried dill, but there is something so great about the fresh stuff! Once all the ingredients are mixed, scoop it onto the veggies, stir everything together, and put it in the fridge to chill! That’s it – a healthy, easy, springtime salad to pair with your Harissa Salmon! Check out my other Springtime Recipes here!
Next up is the Harissa Salmon itself.
I definitely have struggled in the past with overcooking salmon. It’s always hit or miss for me. I think it’s because I always expect it to take longer to cook than it does.
But 10-12 mins in a 425° oven seemed to be the ticket!
So preheat the oven to 425° and prep the fillets.
Place them on a baking sheet skin side down and make two to three 1/4″ slices along the top of the harissa salmon.
This helps the olive oil, lemon juice, and seasoning to get down into the fish a little.
Next,
drizzle the salmon with olive oil, fresh lemon juice, and the Harissa seasoning.
Rub the Harissa in on the tops of the fillets so it mixes with the lemon juice and olive oil.
And they’re ready to bake!
As I mentioned above, the Harissa Salmon only takes 10-12 mins to cook.
Once the salmon is done, grab it out of the oven and plate it immediately with a healthy scoop of the Cucumber Radish Dill Salad. You’ve literally made a healthy and delicious dinner that you can’t feel bad about in less than 30 minutes!
I’m only 8 days away from my 30-day goal of no carbs, sugar, or alcohol. If I can keep finding, creating, and cooking recipes like this one though…I feel like it’s going to be easier to turn this 30-day challenge into a lifestyle change.
I hope to have more offerings like this one going up on the blog in the future.
For any of you out there who also struggle with RA – man I feel ya. But honestly, this sickness is just a wake-up call to try harder to treat my body better.
We can eat healthier and it still be tasty! Comment below if you also have Rheumatoid Arthritis, have you made diet changes? Has it helped!? Leave me a comment too if you try out this recipe, let me know if you like it! Or just leave a comment to say hi ☺️. Thanks for reading!❤️❤️❤️

Make two to three 1/4″ slices on the top of the salmon and then drizzle 2 tbsp of olive oil as evenly as you can over the tops of the fillets. Next, slice a fresh lemon and squeeze the juice from it all over the tops of the salmon. Watch out for seeds!
