Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Coupe or rocks glass
  • Small plate (for rimming)
  • Jigger
  • Strainer
  • Ice
  • Bar spoon
  • Tongs (for dry ice, if using)

Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz Kirk and Sweeney spiced rum
  • 1 oz freshly pressed apple cider
  • 0.5 oz pomegranate juice
  • 0.25 oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 0.25 oz simple syrup 1:1 sugar to water ratio
  • Ice
  • Dry ice optional, for a smoky effect

Garnishes:

  • Apple slice
  • Fresh rosemary sprig for a witchy touch
  • Edible glitter or black sanding sugar for a shimmering rim

Instructions

Prepare the Glass:

  • To create a dramatic look, rim the edge of a coupe or rocks glass with lemon juice and dip it into edible glitter or black sanding sugar. Set aside to dry.

Mix the Cocktail:

  • In a cocktail shaker, combine the spiced rum, apple cider, pomegranate juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled (about 15 seconds).

Serve:

  • Strain the mixture into the prepared glass. For a truly magical effect, drop in a small piece of dry ice beforepouring the cocktail to create a swirling, smoky haze. (Note: Ensure no one consumes the dry ice until it fully dissolves—handle with tongs and serve with caution.)

Add Garnishes:

  • Garnish with an apple slice on the rim and a sprig of smoking rosemary for a “poisoned” look.
